This season, Musical Makers Club's Rising Stars brings Broadway's most beloved classic to life: Annie Jr. and we're looking for your child to help tell this story.
From orphan to icon. One unstoppable girl, a loveable dog named Sandy, and a story that's been moving audiences for decades.
Annie Jr. is MTI's licensed adaptation of the legendary Broadway musical. Students will bring it to life with full choreography, live vocals, and a stage performance their families will be talking about for years.
Expect show-stopping numbers including It's the Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, and the song everyone knows: Tomorrow.
What Is Rising Stars?
Rising Stars is Musical Makers Club's flagship program for children aged 6–13.
Every season, students come together, weekly during school terms, to rehearse and perform a full-scale musical theatre production: singing, dance, and acting woven together under the guidance of MMC's specialist coaches and seasoned performers. Each season culminates in a live performance for family and friends: full costumes, professional lighting, and stage projections.
Every student who wants to perform and enrols, will perform and receive a role. That's not a maybe. That's a guarantee.
MMC does hold "auditions", but not the kind you might be picturing. Our audition process is an encouraging, low-pressure experience designed to understand each student's goals, strengths, and confidence. There's no pass or fail.
It's simply a chance for your child to showcase what they've prepared during the first 3-4 weeks of term, and tell us what kind of role excites them, solo in a safe and supportive space, while other students in class work on a separate activity
Every child who wants to be in the show will be in the show.
If needed, named roles are divided across students, and/or we will write additional custom lines to make sure every performer has their moment to shine onstage. Not every child wants a lead, that's completely normal, and there is a perfect place for them.
There is no unimportant role.
A musical doesn't work with just two leads on stage. It takes every voice, every move, and every line, big or small, to bring the story to life. Every student is an essential part of that.
No prior experience needed. Just a love and excitement to be part of the stage.

The majority of MMC students started with us with no experience whatsoever, and if you saw them randomly performing, you would never have guessed that was the case.

Established in 2015, Musical Makers Club has staged productions across more than a decade of seasons, bringing musical theatre to hundreds of Sydney kids and families.
