Join the Musical Makers Club Team
Calling Sydney Actors, Singers, and Dancers!
Are you a performer based in Sydney who loves musical theatre and lights up when teaching young and eager performers?
Musical Makers Club (MMC) is hiring energetic, supportive Musical Theatre Coaches to grow our team, and plans, with availabilities across one or multiple days, times, and locations across Sydney. We're launching TWO new weekly classes!
Support the arts by working in it directly and consistently. Be part of creating even more accessible opportunities.
Who We Are
MMC has been running for over 11 years, and in 2024 our well-very passionate and dedicated in-house coach, Paulina Pinete Quintero, took on and refreshed the role of Creative Director. We want to continue building a supportive community of performers, for students and staff.
We prioritise care, connection, and confidence-building above all. Every child that wants to perform, gets their moment to shine on stage. Everyone's place is tailored as much as possible, even if we have to adapt the script to fit.
Our community wouldn't exist without our coaches. Don't undermine your impact. It's not just a weekly class. It's shaping confidence, bravery, teamwork, and connections that last a life time.
By the time what you helped built from scratch come to life...
It's magic. We're always in awe over how far they've come, and what they have achieved.
The current team has been around for years for a reason.
Where We're At, and Where We're Going
Paulina has taught all our programs for years.
We're incredibly proud of everything we've refined, and the connections we've built, and continuously foster.
It takes a team, and she's more than ready to pass the torch to new members, and provide more opportunities working and performing in theatre. This will allow Paulina personally, and the entire MMC team, to provide more consistent care, assistance, mentoring, and growth, for everyone invovled.
Help us grow, and receive full guidance at every step.
We know the program and schedules off by heart. We are more than ready and excited to welcome new people that align with, and are eager to build on the same values and consistency.

We Adapt to Performers
Worried about previously booked projects?
Please don't hesitate to reach out because you've got a week or two, or random scattered days coming up. Just pass on the notice as soon as you can, and we'll accommodate.
We have a foundational structure already in place, with a committed and tightly scheduled team. We're looking for help to make it stronger for everyone.
Consistency is from showing up regularly, giving notice, and receiving support on the days you're unavailable.
We're here to provide performing arts opportunities, not limit them. We're all in this together.
What You'll Need
-
Commitment to this season in full (ends mid Dec) to the best of your current availability. This is not a one month opening, or randomly assigned shift work. We value consistency, and strive to maintain it at all times. Ideally, you're as eager as us for more. It gets easier, and more rewarding.
-
-
Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one independently
-
Reliable transport. Car or public. What matters is you have consistent access, are prepared, timely, and quick to communicate if something happens.
-
Weekly availability during school terms, for your chosen class(es), and it's(their) theatre dates, to the best of your current availability when starting.
-
All our current team members attend all days at the theatre. As we welcome a couple more, there could be (and aiming for) flexibility.
-
Theatre dates are confirmed a year in advance to help plan around them as much as possible.
What We Offer
-
Above average hourly rate for teachers, and assistants
-
Consistent hours during school terms
-
Room to take on future tailored opportunities
-
Cover support with proper notice
-
Full itinerary and roster till December (and more)
-
Paid, hands-on training from your first day as a Coach
-
A new seasonal start, learning the structure as it unfolds
-
A wonderfully supportive community
-
Meaningul work with amazing shows that leave an impact
What You'll Be Doing
As a Musical Theatre Coach, you will:
-
Lead or assist weekly classes, singing, acting, and dancing.
-
Help bring a production to life with a max class of 20-30 students
-
Build confidence and performance skills in a supportive and nurturing enviroment
-
Work collaboratively with a passionate and welcoming team
-
Come prepared weekly.
A timeline is provided for the entire season up front. Choreography videos slowly added in chunks, and sent to you in advance. Checking videos in class every now and then is normal, but if you're watching the video in class every week, the students can't learn from you. You're who they look to for guidance. Be their encouragement and inspiration. -
Handle simple seasonal show admin among the team, within specific timelines, with guidance and notice. No daily email admin required.
Saturday Rising Stars classes always run with two coaches since they're our bigger groups, so they always have strong support and collaboration.
Weekday Rising Stars classes, and all Academy classes will transition eventually into a single coach. Full assisted support provided until everyone feels confident. There's no being thrown in the deep end.
Who We're Looking For
-
Acting ability is a must
-
Comfortable and able to sing, strong singers preferred, but not essential to be expert level. We have ways to adapt, and while still supporting the students if so.
-
Comfortable and able to memorise and teach choreography confidently, we provide the routines and videos to you. Just come prepared.
-
Confident, enthusiastic, and great with kids.
-
Reliable, with strong time management, and consistent communication skills. We're here to help, but we also have a set schedule. We can only do so if we hear from you.
-
A team player who brings positive energy into the room. We all rely on each other to keep the rhythm going, even across different sites.
-
We schedule events a year in advance. We understand things pops up, and sometimes last minute. Flexibility to support or cover when needed. We all appreciate, aim to provide, and expect it in return when possible. The sooner the notice, the better. With another team member, a seamless fix.
Teaching experience is preferred for Lead Coaches.
We welcome Assistant Coaches who are eager to learn by supporting a main coach.
Performing arts experience is essential for any teaching position. We want people who have been on stage themselves to know and value the commitment, effort and courage required to make it happen.
